Since Windows 11 24H2 update everything runs slow and takes longer to load

Ever since this update, my system takes a long time before it's fully up to speed. I'm talking 10 minutes or more. Even the opening screen where I enter my PIN takes longer to come up. After entering the pin, it takes a while for the app icons to show on the desktop and even then the taskbar arrives later. I can't get Outlook or Chrome to launch right away. It can take minutes for them to load and be responsive.

Even after the system is functioning more normally, it is still slower than before the update. Emails take a few seconds longer to open up. Files take longer to open. Chrome tabs take longer to show.

I've checked Task Manager. My CPU is at less than 10% and my RAM at 59% with apps open. Hard disk doesn't show a lot of activity. I've looked at processes and don't see anything that's consuming a lot of resources. Nothing obvious is showing up. I've made sure to turn off a lot of apps at start up that were unnecessary.

I've also turned off sys.main. Before that, everything was even slower and more annoying than what I have already described. Two other annoying things I've discovered. Microsoft turned off Malwarebytes and turned on Defender anti-virus without my permission. It also turned on Edge. None of these things should have been activated without asking my permission. The update should keep every app the way it was either turned on or off.

24H2 has changed something in my computer that affects all activity and load times. It is not hardware related.

I have a fairly fast cpu, ram and SSD disk access speed. This is a gaming computer. It worked fast before the update. I've made a few adjustments to speed things up but those were not necessary before 24H2.

I do enjoy reading the replies...they will never just admit that their software is ****. Which is the reason for issues 90% of the time

Windows 11 won't even load features or options it barely loads the settings and i just bought this computer and only installed from verified publishers and still having issues especially with full screen games my mouse doesn't lock into the games i will look down and oh hey there is your taskbar or ill be shooting someone and ill accident exit the game because the cursor will go over the x to exit out of the game windows 11 is way worse than windows 8 they really dropped the ball on this upgrade its like they want us to use macs or Linux instead of their product i bought this pc a month ago i should not be having issues where i cant install updates im not going to reinstall windows just because they can't fix their software at least with xp. vista. and 7 everything was great the upgrade to 10 and 11 is just extra steps to make us constantly have to contact support and pay to have repairs that aren't even needed because it's all-software issue they spent too much money buying call of duty instead of making sure their software works properly but hopefully they just skip windows 11 and brig us window 12 because they are going to need it

Thank you! No offense, it was just that I just removed my solitaire collection from my phone! And I don't even go on my computers. I switched to Duck Duck Go and I will switch my computer to same! I did not realize how many programs try to gather information. Oh, I only use Solitare on my phone to turn my brain off. No longer on computer. And no longer on phone! Just wanted to say thank you for the smile! 😀 It's sad that Microsoft messed with that! That's a big data grabber! So very disappointed in Microsoft. But to hear someone complain about basic games, don't know why. Maybe all the negatives, especially the one person who is so negative (I'm try to find positives) your comment made me smile! How dare they mess with our escape from reality!! 🤣🤣🤣

Had numerous issues on home PC with performnce. Many games crash now which were complelt stabe before.

Machines we upgraded at work also have had persistant problems. Persistint issue with RDS through a remote gateway for eveyone who upgraded.

Clearly a terrible update this one.
