Thanks for the update, Deepak!
Since you're using Windows 11 Home, Group Policy Editor isn't available by default. We can still fix this by adjusting your power and registry settings. Here's what to try next:
1: Enable Password on Wake via Registry Editor
Note: Be very careful when editing the registry; incorrect changes can cause system issues.
Just in case something goes wrong, back up your important files (documents, photos, etc.) to an external drive or cloud storage.
Create a System Restore Point
This lets you roll back your PC to its current state if the registry edit causes problems.

If you are comfortable proceeding, here's how you can check it.
Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Navigate to this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings\0e796bdb-100d-47d6-a2d5-f7d2daa51f51
If the path doesn’t exist, you’ll need to create it manually:
Right-click on the parent folder and select New > Key for each part of the path.
Once at the final folder, right-click in the right pane > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Name it: ACSettingIndex
Set its value to 1 (this enables password requirement on wake).
Repeat and add DCSettingIndex with a value of 1 (for battery mode).
Restart your PC to apply the changes.
Create Missing Keys
________________
Right-click on Microsoft, choose New > Key, and name it: Power
Right-click on Power, choose New > Key, name it: PowerSettings
Right-click on PowerSettings, choose New > Key, name it: 0e796bdb-100d-47d6-a2d5-f7d2daa51f51
Add the Required Values
Now in the right pane of the final key, do the following:
Right-click in the empty space > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value > Name it:
ACSettingIndex
Double-click it, set the value data to 1, and click OK.
Repeat for:
DCSettingIndex
Set its Value data to 1 as well.
ACSettingIndex = 1 → Requires password on wake when plugged in
DCSettingIndex = 1 → Requires password on wake when on battery
Once added, restart your PC to apply the changes.
Step 2: Check Advanced Power Settings
Press Windows + S, type Edit power plan, and select it.
Click Change advanced power settings.
In the Power Options window:
Expand Require a password on wakeup
Set both On battery and Plugged in to Yes
Click Apply > OK.
Step 3: Confirm Sign-in Requirement in Settings Again
Just to double-check:
Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
Under "If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?", ensure it's set to Every time or "When PC wakes up from sleep."
Also check that Windows Hello is not overriding behavior.
Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have questions with the steps. I am here to help you all the way.
Best regards,
Adrian A.
