After reinstalling Windows 11, Microsoft account no longer lists my computer or Android phone on the devices page..

As a result, I can no longer use the "find my device" feature on the Microsoft account website. It's been 3-4 weeks since the reinstallation and it still hasn't corrected itself.

    Hello again,

Thanks for getting back to me. So after 2 hours of trying those few steps, yes it does seem to be an issue connected to my primary email account.

I created a couple of local accounts and the issue remained. I then created a new outlook account to then create a new Microsoft account and then used that to create a new Windows account. Upon going to the Microsoft devices page, my PC indeed now shows up in devices.

So... How do we go about getting my primary account which I've had since the 90s, to recognise all my devices again including my phone and XBOX Elite controller. I really dont want to have to change to a new account full-time or even worse reinstall Windows after the nightmare I went through last month.

    Thanks

Note: Could the fact I added two-factor authentication to my primary account immediately after installing Windows last month, be a factor? I use the Microsoft authentication app.

Another note: Whilst logged into my primary account, I've noticed something else. Under 'linked devices' in the settings section, it's showing my PC under its old name before the reinstallation. I click remove device but it just keeps re-appearing.

    Thanks again.

Got it! To proceed on isolating the issue, you can sign out again your account by selecting sign in with local account instead and then create a new windows profile. From there, you can sign in your Microsoft account the same goes with signing in to Microsoft Store. After, please check if you can now see devices listed.

If same issue happens, how about sign in with another Microsoft account to test if this is an issue with windows or with the account not being recognized signed in to Windows.

    Hi,

The option I see is "sign in with a local account instead." There is no option to verify.

I signed out and signed back in to Microsoft Store.

    The issue remains.

Hello. Thanks for reaching out. My name is Diana. I'm an independent advisor and a Microsoft fan like you.

Make sure that Microsoft account has been signed in and verified.

To do that, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info > sign in with Microsoft account instead. If you happen to see "sign in with local account instead in there" then your Microsoft account has already been signed in. So, if you see, verify in there, please click Verify then get the code to fully verify your account.

Once done, sign out and sign in from Microsoft Store.

Then go back to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts > make sure that to delete any other email address that is no longer needed to be signed in from there that may cause the issue.
