Hey there! My name is Jason one of your Team here in Microsoft Community Just like you i am also helping our Community by sharing thoughts and ideas.
So You're experiencing an ongoing Windows background/theme/screensaver conflict—presumably from Windows Personalization settings (Themes/Slideshow) taking priority over Wallpaper Engine on particular monitors. Introduce a third monitor and probably some Display Registry corruption or sync problems, and you've got chaos.
I sort some information to help you out Jarrod
- Disable Windows Slideshow
Go to : Settings → Personalization → Background
-Change Background to: Picture or Solid Color
-Make sure Slideshow is NOT selected
-Scroll down and ensure "Choose albums for your slideshow" is empty or points to an empty folder
then Settings → Personalization → Lock screen
-Set Lock screen background to Picture
-Turn Off any "Use slideshow on lock screen" toggle
- Fully Reset Theme & Background Sync
Go to : Settings → Accounts → Sync your settings
-Turn off Theme sync
then open nginx Settings → Personalization → Themes
Switch to the Default Windows theme
Wait 10–15 seconds for the theme to fully reset
Reboot your PC before moving on.
3 Force Disable Screensaver
Do this: mathematica
Control Panel → Appearance and Personalization → Change screen saver
-Set Screensaver to None
-Click Apply
Also check Power Options: Bash - Settings → System → Power & battery → Screen and sleep
Make sure no auto-sleep/screen-off timeout is set too aggressively (e.g. 1 minute)
4 Fix Monitor Background Assignments (Registry)
Press Win + R, type: regedit, press Enter
Navigate to: mathematica
copy and paste this
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Look for keys like:
-TranscodedImageCount
-TranscodedImageCache
-Wallpaper
-WallpaperStyle
You can delete these safely (Windows will regenerate them on reboot)
Navigate to:
Copy Edit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers
Delete any non-default values
Then reboot and try again.
Hope that will help
best regards
Jason
