Win11: How to capture a scrolling window (ie long screenshot) to a single JPG file

I am running Win11. However I am using a legacy genealogy program (circa year 2000) named "Family Tree Maker". It can generate a family-tree (report) which can be viewed on the screen or printed. Unfortunately the family-tree is too large to fit on a single screen. You need to scroll it to see the entire tree. Likewise when printed it spans multiple pages.

I would like to send the family-tree (report) to a single JPG file which can then be shrunk (and then be printed as a single page). Unfortunately the program does not have its own tool for generating JPG files. And doing a screen-shot is not an option as the entire family-tree does not fit on a single screen (it needs to be scrolled).

So in a nutshell, my question is -- how can I capture a scrolling window (ie long screenshot) to a single JPG file?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend contacting the software support team in this case, as they would be better equipped to advise you. However, in theory, you should be able to adjust the print configuration to fit the project onto a single page.

    Hi Jeronimo:

    Thank you for responding

I have already done that.... The problem is that the original family-tree (report) has been formatted by the program to print out as 3 pages. So when you print to PDF, the result is a 3 page PDF doc.

I tried saving the PDF file as a JPG file, using Adobe and with some online services.

Adobe gave me a single JPG containing only the first page.

Some of the online services gave me 3 JPGs, one for each page.

I want one JPG containing all 3 pages.

Then I can shrink the JPG so that it prints out as one page.

Basically I want the Windows Print app (for the want of a better term) to ignore the pagination

in the PDF file and treat it as a single-page document.

    Hope this makes sense.

Hi, I am Jeronimo, Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Unfortunately there’s no build in options on Windows to do this, what I could recommend is that you print to PDF from there you will be able to convert the file to JPEG
