After the computer running Windows 10 screen unblanked because I tapped on the moue pad, the screen colors were messed up!! It is frustrating to use a computer that does things like this. I tried to change the color settings but couldn't reset to the way it was before. I finally rebooted the computer and it became more normal except that I cannot get all of the colors back to normal, including a black Taskbar. Is there a way to reset the colors to default?

I still cannot change the Taskbar and Notifications to black. They are a light color.

I meant Settings > Personalization > Colors> Choose your mode.

To restore default colors, please try these steps:

    1. Turn off High Contrast

Press Windows key + Ctrl + C to toggle High Contrast off.

Or go to Settings > Ease of Access > High contrast, and set it to None.

    1. Switch from Custom theme

Go to Settings > Personalization > Themes

Select the Windows theme (not "Custom" or "High Contrast").

    1. Reset Colors Manually

Go to Settings > Personalization > Colors

Set "Choose your color" to Light or Dark (if available).

If still grayed out, switch the theme first (step 2) and then try again.

There is no such option titled, "Choose your default app mode" under Colors. Also, Under where it says, "Show accent color on the following surfaces," The Start taskbar and action center is grayed out.

I still need help to get this issue resolved that should not have occurred by simply tapping on the mouse pad to unblank the monitor while the Night light was active.

Hi, my name is Julian, a Windows user just like you. Since this is a public forum made up mostly of fellow gamers and users, all we can offer are guidance and suggestions. I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue.

To reset the colors to the default in Windows 10, please go to Settings > Personalization > Colors, scroll down and click "Choose your default app mode" and set it to Dark (for a black taskbar) or Light. Additionally, click on "High contrast settings" to make sure high contrast mode is turned off.

If the colors look off, try resetting the them by going to Settings > Personalization > Themes > select Windows theme. To learn more about changing colors, you may check this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cha...

    Hope this helps!
