This update just happened

2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5058411)

on 5/16/2025. Immediately after the update my VEC Infinity 3 Pedal no longer works despite going through set up again and it responds on the setup software but not with my transcribing software which was previously working this morning perfectly as before. I have restarted, cannot "go back" to previous windows or prior to update. I can't get anywhere with all the articles i find, none of the steps make any difference. How do i get this pedal to be recognized and working again??

    Hello Mary,

Thank you so much for reaching out, I am Udit an independent advisor, and I am glad to assist you today with this issue. Let’s go through some steps that may help,

    1. Unplug the foot pedal, wait for about 30 seconds, and plug it into a different USB port. Preferably, use a USB 2.0 port if available, as some devices are more stable with that connection.
    2. Right-click on your transcription software's shortcut and select "Run as administrator." This can sometimes help with permission-related issues after a Windows update.
    3. Open your transcription software and look for device settings or preferences. Sometimes after an update, the software might lose its input configuration and needs to be set up again to detect the pedal.
    4. Go to Device Manager (press Windows + X and select Device Manager)

Find the pedal under “Human Interface Devices” or “USB Input Devices”

    Right-click and choose “Update driver”

If that doesn't work, right-click again, choose “Uninstall device,” then unplug and plug the pedal back in to reinstall automatically.

    1. Try reinstalling the software or using the repair option if available.
    2. If the software is older, right-click its shortcut, go to “Properties,” then under the Compatibility tab, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 10.

If none of these steps help, you might consider using System Restore if it was enabled before the update.

Let me know how it goes. I'm here if you need further assistance.

    Best regards,

    Udit
