I have been going all day trying to look at different websites and find answers for some reason my switch pro controller won’t connect wirelessly or wired, I have tried ds4windows, betterjoy, and various other programs but they aren’t seem to be helping, I know about the ASUS Prime B650M-A AX ii motherboard, Ik of the Reddit post of the ASUS B250 where they turned off S5 but I can’t seem to access the bios for mine so that option was eliminated, I tried some updates with Bluetooth drivers but that didn’t work either my USB port and cable are functioning correctly but they still work paired wired, so my last bit of faith is left you you all whatever you give that might be helpful I would appreciate it very much thank you.

    Great question, Ben!

Once you downloaded and installed AMD Chipset Drivers, Bluetooth Driver and

Wi-Fi/LAN Driver, restart your PC and test if the issue still the same.

If it still not working, you can follow the step 2 and you only uninstall in device manager for any grayed-out or unknown devices under Bluetooth, HID, and Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Wonderful! Thanks so much for your kind words and detailed answers, Ben. I truly appreciate your patience and openness to work through this together.

From your reply, we're likely dealing with a missing or incompatible driver, or interference from third-party software.

Here's what you can do to isolate and resolve the issue.

Step 1. Visit ASUS Support page to install or update Chipset & Bluetooth Drivers

    https://www.asus.com/support/

While this is not a Microsoft website, it is the official site of your device manufacturer.

Download and install the latest drivers for the following:

    AMD Chipset Drivers

    Bluetooth Driver

    Wi-Fi/LAN Driver (for stability)

After installing, reboot your PC even if you're not prompted to.

Step 2. If possible temporarily uninstall interfering apps

Some tools like DS4Windows, BetterJoy, or older drivers might conflict with Nintendo controllers.

Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter

Temporarily uninstall your DS4Windows, BetterJoy and any controller remapper you don’t currently need

Also, go to Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices

Expand Bluetooth, HID, and Universal Serial Bus controllers

Right-click and uninstall any grayed-out or unknown devices

    Then reboot.

Step 3. Try reconnecting the controller

Use a known good USB-A to USB-C data cable

Connect it directly to a rear USB 3.0 port

Check Device Manager again (especially HID)

For wireless: Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth

If “Pro Controller” shows up, try pairing.

Step 4. Optional BIOS Check. You mentioned you can’t access BIOS, just confirming, are you pressing Del or F2 during the first logo screen? If it's fast booting too quickly, try holding Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings to reboot directly into BIOS.

There we can check, If Bluetooth is enabled or if there's an S5 deep sleep option (some users disable this to improve controller support)

Let me know how it goes after the driver updates and cleanup. I’m here to help you until this gets resolved. You’re doing great so far!

    1. No I recently got my PC this week so I have yet to do much on it
    2. I believe we are just using the motherboard
    3. No nothing shows up
    4. No it doesn’t show up in either, however in other devices there are multiple warnings for PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller, and “unknown devices” that are located in Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
    5. Yes I have been testing between multiple from USB to a Type-C
    6. No I haven’t because I have no other PC
    7. I do have steam, and Ds4Windows and possibly what I believe are other remapped like better joy that might be interfering but am not certain

There is no need to apologize for these questions I’m grateful for each and every one and I’m grateful that you are using your time to help me I very much appreciate it.

    Hello Ben,

Thanks for your detailed post. I understand this kind of issue can be extremely frustrating. I am here to work it with you. We will figure it out together. I got you covered.

Before we proceed, I'd like to ask a few questions to better understand your setup.

    1. Has your Nintendo Switch Pro Controller ever worked with this PC before (either wired or wireless)?
If yes, do you recall any changes made before it stopped working? (For example: Windows updates, driver changes, BIOS updates, new software installs, etc.)
    2. Are you using any Bluetooth dongle, or only the motherboard's onboard Bluetooth?
    3. When you go to Add Bluetooth Device, does “Pro Controller” appear at all?
    4. When you plug the controller via USB, does it show up in Device Manager under
      Human Interface Devices?
      Universal Serial Bus Devices?
Or is there any yellow warning symbol?
    5. Have you tested another USB-C cable (preferably a data+charge cable)?
    6. Have you checked if the controller works on another PC (wired or wireless)?
    7. Are you running any software in the background like Steam, DS4Windows, or controller remappers that could be interfering?

I know this is a lot of questions to begin with, but this will be helpful for us narrow down and provide you effective steps to fix it. This also will help identify whether we’re dealing with a configuration issue or something deeper like driver/firmware conflicts.

    Looking forward to your reply!
