i have done this and it still isn't working yet

Thanks for reaching out. I’m Adrian, an independent advisor, and I’d be happy to help you with this.

Even if Windows is fully updated, the Phone Link app itself sometimes needs a separate update through the Microsoft Store.

Here’s what you need to do.

1. Press Start, type Microsoft Store, and open it.
   Check for updates manually
   In the store, click the Library icon (bottom left corner).
   Click Get updates (top right).
   Wait a few seconds to see if Phone Link starts updating.
2. Reset the Phone Link app (if above doesn’t help)
   Press Windows + I to open Settings.
   Go to Apps > Installed apps
   Search for Phone Link
   Click the three dots (...) next to it > Advanced options
   Scroll down and click Reset, then confirm.
   Restart your PC and try launching Phone Link again.

I encountered the same issue on a fresh installation. To resolve it, I enabled automatic app updates in the Microsoft Store settings.

1. Open the Microsoft Store.
2. Click your Profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.
3. Turn on the option for App Updates.

This will fix the "Phone link needs an update, but we're unable to apply the update right now."

hi, I have the same problem regarding phone link and I did what you suggested but it still yields the same results.. please see attached.. even after Repair and Reset done, restarting the PC, it still goes back to the "error update" page
