What to do if you get the "No bootable device" error?

Hello! I need your help — maybe you have a solution.

I have an Acer Aspire A315-59 laptop. On April 29th, it was working perfectly fine, but when I turned it on on April 30th, I received the message: "No bootable device."

All attempts to fix the issue have been unsuccessful. I’ve tried everything I could find online, including attempts to unlock advanced BIOS settings — spoiler: that didn’t work. The only thing I haven’t tried is switching the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy, and there’s a reason for that: the BIOS doesn’t allow me to do it.

In the Boot tab, the only thing I can change is Secure Boot. The boot priority order is not displayed at all. However, in the Main tab, the storage device is visible.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

Thank you in advance!

    I'm back!

I’ve already tried doing this. I have a bootable USB drive that I previously used to install Windows on my desktop PC (which, unfortunately, is currently far from me). I plugged it in and entered the BIOS — followed all the steps as described in guides and on platforms like YouTube — but the USB drive still didn’t appear in the boot priority list.

I thought maybe BIOS simply doesn’t show it there, so I tried pressing F12 to check if it would show up in the boot menu — but unfortunately, it wasn't visible there either. Most likely, the issue is related to the BIOS itself.

I’m considering removing the BIOS battery to fully reset the settings and see what happens.

If that doesn’t help, I’ll get back to you again.

    Sorry for being persistent.

    Wishing you a

    good day!

    Hello,

    Thank you for reverting back,

As I can check in the pictures that the Secure boot is not enabled. I would suggest you to please enable the secure boot and create the installation media and then try to install the windows. As to make the device accessible you will need an OS. You may adhere to the steps in the above article and check how to install to windows by creating an installation media.

    Have a good day,

    Warm regards

    Thank you for your response!

Unfortunately, my issue is not related to Windows, as the laptop — specifically the boot menu — does not detect the storage drive. In my case, it's an M.2 SSD installed in the GEN4 slot. I’ll try to attach a photo of the boot menu and the information tab.
