    Hello david,

Thank you so much for reaching out, I am Dexter an independent advisor, and I am glad to assist you today with this issue.

Since you've already attempted to fix the PC using prompts and undone recent updates without success, let's explore additional steps to resolve the problem.

Step 1: Boot into Advanced Startup Options

Interrupt the Boot Process: Turn on your laptop and as soon as the Windows logo appears, press and hold the power button until the device shuts off. Repeat this process 2–3 times. On the 3rd attempt, Windows should enter the Advanced Startup Options menu.

Navigate to Troubleshoot: Once in the Advanced Startup Options, select Troubleshoot.

Access Advanced Options: Then, go to Advanced options.

    Step 2: Run Startup Repair

In the Advanced options menu, select Startup Repair.

Choose your account and enter your password if prompted.

Allow Windows to attempt automatic repairs.

Step 3: Run System File Checker (SFC)

In the Advanced options menu, select Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

Wait for the scan to complete. If any issues are found, SFC will attempt to repair them.

Step 4: Perform a System Restore

In the Advanced options menu, select System Restore.

Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your system to a previous point before the issue began.

Step 5: Rebuild Boot Configuration Data (BCD)

In the Advanced options menu, select Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

After executing these commands, restart your laptop.

Step 6: Check for Hardware Issues

If the problem persists after following the above steps, consider the possibility of hardware issues:

Hard Drive: A failing hard drive can cause startup problems.

RAM: Faulty RAM can also lead to boot issues.

Connections: Loose or damaged cables and connectors can disrupt the boot process.

Should you have more questions, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Dexter
