Inspiron 14 2-in-1 stuck in tablet mode

Recently after a restart my laptop got locked into what i think is tablet mode. I've restarted multiple times and checked for updates, but neither had any result.

Folded and unfolded, nothing happened. (Tried rotating in while folded, yet the screen didn't turn despite rotation lock being off)
Used sfc /scannow in command prompt, and it said everything was fine
Looked for tablet settings, but no option other than "Optimize Taskbar" would show up
Went to system display to find display orientation, the setting is greyed out and cannot be changed
Tried finding automatic tablet mode toggle, but once again no tablet setting could be found
Went to regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell to change TabletMode value to 0, but the value was already 0
Tried updating drivers for display adapters, and the problem still wasnt solved

    Hi Orb_5321621,

Thank you for posting here in Community.

That sounds incredibly frustrating! You've already done a thorough job troubleshooting, so I completely understand how this issue is becoming a headache. But don’t worry—I’ll help you explore some additional steps that might get your Inspiron 14 2-in-1 back to normal.

    1. Check BIOS Settings
      • Some users have reported that a BIOS update caused issues with tablet mode. Try rolling back to an earlier BIOS version if possible.
      • To check your BIOS version, press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and look for "BIOS Version/Date."
    2. Disable Intel Integrated Sensor Solution
      • Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
      • Expand System Devices.
      • Locate Intel (R) Integrated Sensor Solution.
      • Right-click and Disable it.
      • Restart your laptop and see if the issue persists.
    3. Force Tablet Mode Toggle via Action Center
      • Press Windows + A to open Action Center.
      • Look for the Tablet Mode button and toggle it off.
    4. Perform a System Restore
      • If this issue started recently, restoring your system to an earlier point might help.
      • Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and follow the prompts to restore your system.
    5. Reset Windows Settings
      • If nothing else works, consider resetting Windows while keeping your files.
      • Go to SettingsUpdate & SecurityRecoveryReset this PC.

I hope one of these solutions works for you! Let me know if you need more guidance—I'm here to help.

    Best regards,

    Bo
