if i click the send feed back button i get the same error code - 0x800704cf - I got the same error from the Microsoft store until I logged in manually but still get it in clipchamp and the send feedback option, even though I am logged in - I have tried all Microsoft suggested fixes to no avail - it is broken and i consider this software no longer fit for purpose and this is a major quality failure.

Yes I had tried all of those things, I am relatively competent and understand things having grown up in a UNIX world with my profession. I have resolved this myself - bare in mind that it only just started doing this since an MS update I believe. Years ago my PC tower was used else ware in the house. When used else ware it was via a usb wireless dongle, in my office it is, and always has been, at least for the past 3 years, been connected to the internet by ethernet cable straight to the router. I removed the long since redundant dongle licence software and the device from the list and it all started working - so why the **** did MS change something that made their software look for wireless before/over the ethernet, or fall over when it couldn't find a wireless network, instead of looking for subsequent networks. None of my other applications have struggled to find the internet, only Clipchamp and the MS store - such shoddy programming and updates with suppositions that we are all wireless.

Rant over - 'thanks for replying'

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and making community posts.

I understands the importance of resolving this issue, Don’t worry I will be helping you with this following steps.

    1. Flush DNS & Reset Network Settings
      • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run these commands one by one: ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset
      • Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
    2. Reset Microsoft Store & Clipchamp
      • Open PowerShell as an administrator and run: wsreset.exe
      • This resets the Microsoft Store cache, which might resolve the issue.
    3. Check Windows Services
      • Open Services (Win + R, type services.msc).
      • Find Microsoft Store Install Service and Clipchamp-related services.
      • Ensure they are running and set to Automatic.
    4. Try a Different Network
      • If possible, connect to a different Wi-Fi or use a mobile hotspot to see if the issue is network-related.
    5. Check for Windows Updates
      • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.
