I need to keep my computer secure but would like to use bluetooth headphones. In Windows 11, how would I prevent anyone from discovering my bluetooth or trying to connect something?

Correct, other devices cannot discover your computer, but your computer can still initiate the "add" process to discover others and connect to others.

Windows does not offer a setting to require a custom PIN when pairing new Bluetooth devices.

So that will make my bluetooth undiscoverable while still using bluetooth devices? Thanks.

Is there a way to add a pin number to add a bluetooth device as an added layer of security? I've read about pin numbers for windows 11 and wanted to see if I could add it.

Sorry, typed away too fast, I meant to uncheck "allow bt devices to find this PC", and check the "alert me when a new BT device wants to connect".

As for connecting your own device, do you mean connecting your computer with bluetooth headphones for example? If so, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices. Click on Add device > Bluetooth. On the headphone side, you need to turn the headphone on and enable the pairing mode, it will be then discovered by your Windows and will be listed on this page for you to connect.

    Hello,

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.

Turn on Bluetooth if it's off.

Click Devices > Scroll to More Bluetooth settings.

Uncheck "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC" and "Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect."
