Where do the 'parental request ' go to?

I wanted to use dailymotion to watch something, but when I clicked on it, it said I'll need to ask for permission to use the site. There was a button, 'ask now', which was supposed to send a request to my parent as I'm underage so that they could give permission, but when they went to their email, there was no email from microsoft about giving consent for dailymotion.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. I'm Ace, one of the Independent Advisors. I can understand your concern and please don't worry I am here to help you.

Since your parent's account is a Gmail account, the parental request should still arrive via email, but sometimes Microsoft emails can be filtered into the spam or promotions folder. Your parent should check those folders to see if the request is there. If the email isn’t arriving, they can also check their Microsoft Family Safety dashboard at family.microsoft.com to see if the request appears there. Sometimes, instead of an email, the request is listed in the Microsoft account notifications.

If the request still isn’t showing up, your parent may need to manually approve access by signing into their Microsoft account and adjusting your permissions in Microsoft Family Settings. They can follow the steps outlined in this guide to manage parental consent.

Let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

Sorry I think I forgot to mention that my parent's account that is linked with mine is a gmail account so how would they see the request?

    Hi Unknown_007,

Thank you so much for reaching out. I am Iggy, an independent advisor, and glad to assist you today with this issue.

When you click “Ask now”, the parental request does not always go to email(check spam folder or junk), instead, it goes to the parent’s Microsoft Family dashboard or notification center.

Your Parent should log-in to https://family.microsoft.com and they need to sign-in their Microsoft account and they would see a notification or a request to allow you ( on what site you request access) Another step would be, If one of your parent is using a windows 10/11 PC with their Microsoft account logged-in, they will receive a notification.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Iggy
