How to turn off Family safety settings/ask for permission on window 11
Hi,
My chrome is not opening. When i tried to click on chrome it just showing " Ask for permission - Microsoft Family Safety
You'll need to ask to use this app
You can't use Google Chrome because of your family safety settings, but it doesn't hurt to ask

2025-06-04T12:02:47+00:00 Hi there, Marc here and thanks for reaching out Microsoft Community. I'm here to help!
Thanks for the information you provided, this usually means your Microsoft account is still recognized as a child account within a family group.
To turn off Family Safety restrictions, you or your parent/guardian will need to visit https://account.microsoft.com/family and either remove your account from the family group or update the permis̲sions to allow Chrome.
If you've already been removed from the family group but the restriction remains, try going to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and remove any lingering
family-linked accounts.
Also check Settings > Accounts > Access work or school and disconnect any accounts that might be applying management policies. After doing that, restart your PC.
If Chrome is still blocked, uninstall and reinstall it wh͐ile signed into an administrator account. Let me know if you’d like help checking whether your account is still classified as a child account or need assistance resetting the permissions.
If you continue to experience any problems, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,

If you're have access to organize account, go to family.microsoft.com.
Then go to "Content Restrictions > Apps, games & media".
Under "Blocked apps", remove Google Chrome from the list or toggle off app restrictions entirely.
