So I have a Lenovo (300- 15ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80Q7)

Currently I have this version (in bellow ss)

(D5CN46WW)

But, this here in the below ss is the latest version that I checked on the Lenovo website

I downloaded it, and I installed it. Everything is fine, but when the Lenovo BIOS update utility opened, it automatically closed by saying " firmware update failed " and boot up normally.

More info about my laptop:-

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.40 GHz

Installed RAM 12.0 GB (9.54 GB usable)

Storage 238 GB SSD CONSISTENT SSD S6 256GB, 932 GB HDD WDC WD10JPCX-24UE4T0

Graphics Card AMD Radeon (TM) R5 M330 (2 GB), Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 (128 MB)

System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Anyone tell me what I can do??

First, what problem are you trying to solve by trying to update the BIOS? It is too easy for a failed update to "brick" the BIOS, forcing one into extreme measures, such as a motherboard replacement, to recover.

Since you have a Lenovo computer, launch Windows Update.

Install all the updates, and restart your computer.

    Again, launch Windows Update.

There should not be any "normal" updates.

    Scroll-down to "optional updates".

Look for an update that you will install into Windows.

    Select just that one update.

Running it will force you to immediately restart your computer.

That restart will trigger the update of your BIOS.

No muss, no fuss, and a greatly-reduced risk of something going wrong.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The firmware (BIOS) update is not controlled by Windows, it is the Lenovo installer that controls that.

If you have any 3rd party anti-virus installed, try disabling that temporarily to see if the BIOS update will go through successfully, if not, you may need to contact Lenovo support on their website, they may have a more up to date version of BIOS, because the one in your screenshot is 9 years old and may no longer be applicable to your system model.
