Hi,
I have windows 11 pro in my laptop. It is dual booted with ubuntu 24.04 . Whenever I start my laptop and open into windows, night light turns on automatically, even though the setting 'night light' is turned off. The night light will be off for a second in pass word window, after that in the pass word window itself, the night light will turn on. After that, if I go to the setting of 'night light' or open the quick access settings on bottom right corner, then night light turns off automatically. The setting 'night light' will be turned off throughout this process. Also the 'night light schedule' is turned off in both ubuntu and windows. In ubuntu, there is no problem with night light.
Any help is much appreciated.

I think this is a problem with windows 24H2 update.
That also did not work.
Thank you so much for update. The Next step is Reset Night Light Settings in the Registry
There’s a known bug where Night Light state gets stuck, even if the setting says it’s off.
Here’s how to fix it:
Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.
Go to this path:
pgsql
Copy
Edit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CloudStore\Store\Cache\DefaultAccount
Delete any keys that look like:
$$windows.data.bluelightreduction.bluelightreductionstate
$$windows.data.bluelightreduction.settings
Restart your laptop.
(Tip: Back up your registry first, just in case.)
Let me know what happened after this and I will guide you further.
Regards
Udit
It did not work. I tried all the steps.
Hello Sinan,
Thank you for reaching out, I am Udit and I am glad to assist you today.
To fix this night light issue please follow these steps.
Even better, visit the official website (Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD) to download the latest driver manually.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then uncheck Turn on fast startup.
Save and restart.
Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Location.
You can either turn off location completely or at least prevent the system from using it for display settings.
Let me know how it goes after applying these steps.
Regards,
Udit.
