I have windows 10, and it won't let me open apps and features in the settings app. How do I get to it?

Anytime I look it up and try to click on it it just brings me back to the home page on settings. I even ran a command in a dialog box to open apps and features and it still brought me to the home page on settings.

    Hello Arianna,

Thank you for reaching out! I’m Adrian, an independent advisor, and I know how frustrating it is when something as basic as opening Apps & Features just loops back to the Settings homepage. I’ll help you get it working again.

Let’s try a few simple steps to get around this

    > Step 1: Use an alternate path to open Apps & Features
    Press Windows + X
Click on Installed Apps (or Apps & Features depending on your version)
OR directly run this in the Run dialog
Press Windows + R, then type:
    ms-settings:appsfeatures
    Press Enter

If it still sends you back to Settings home, continue to the next steps.

    > Step 2: Run System File Checker (SFC)
This checks for and fixes system file corruption that might be breaking Settings.
Press Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and choose Run as administrator
    Type:
    sfc /scannow
Press Enter and let it complete (it may take a few minutes)

    > Step 3: Reset the Settings app
    Press Windows + R, type:
    wsreset.exe
    Press Enter
This will clear the Microsoft Store and can also reset certain Settings components.

    > Step 4: Use PowerShell to open it directly
Press Start, type powershell, right-click Windows PowerShell, and choose Run as administrator
    Paste this command:

    Start-Process "ms-settings:appsfeatures"

    > Step 5: If nothing above works, there may be user profile corruption.
Press Windows + I to open Settings
Go to Accounts > Family & other users
Click Add someone else to this PC, create a local account
Sign in to that new account and try opening Apps & Features there

Let me know how each step goes. I’ll be right here to help with the next move if needed!

    Best regards,
    Adrian
