Hi, Thanks for writing. I know how frustrating it is when your PC keeps running even though the screen goes blank.

Since you can't see anything on the screen, here are some easy ways to change the settings without seeing the screen:

    1. Start Windows in Safe Mode (without seeing):
    • If you hold down the power button for 10 seconds, your PC will turn off.
    • Power it on, then shut it down by force after a few seconds.
    • Do this three more times.
    • Hit Enter, press the down arrow three times, and then press Enter again on the fourth start.
    • Wait a few minutes for Safe Mode to load; this mode only uses the most basic settings for the screen.
    1. Switch to a different screen or TV:
    • Use HDMI or DisplayPort to connect your PC to another screen.
    • Press the Windows key plus P once, then press Enter. This changes the mode of the screen.
    • Press Windows + P and Enter up to four times to switch between modes.
    1. If Remote Desktop is turned on, use it:
    • Start Remote Desktop on a different device and connect to your PC from there.
    • Once you're connected, go to Display Settings and change the resolution.
    • You can try TeamViewer at https://www.teamviewer.com if Remote Desktop wasn't set up.

    1. Use recovery mode to do a System Restore:
    • Turn off your computer
    • To get into recovery mode, turn on and force shut down three times.
    • When asked, choose System Restore and pick a point in time before the display problem began.
    • Follow these steps carefully: https://support.microsoft.com/help/12376/window...

Please follow these steps and let me know which one worked or if any of them are hard for you. I'm here to help.

    Many thanks,

    Pau

Hi there, My name is Pau, and I'm an Independent Advisor. Thanks for getting in touch. Here are some straightforward steps you can follow to restore your screen:

    Recovery in Steps

    1. Force display reset: > Press Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B - this will reset your graphics driver. A beep will sound, and the screen will flicker.
    2. Attempt Safe Mode (if the screen remains black): To force a shutdown, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Turn on the device and quickly press F8 or hold Shift while clicking. Restart your device, go to Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, select Startup Settings, and hit Restart. Finally, press 4 to enable Safe Mode.

Instructions for entering Safe Mode can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/help/12376/window...

    1. Test with a different display: > Connect to a TV or secondary monitor using HDMI/DisplayPort to see if the display output has been redirected.
    2. Option for remote access (in case the local screen is unresponsive): Connect using another PC through Remote Desktop, provided it was enabled beforehand. Consider using TeamViewer at https://www.teamviewer.com/ — This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.
    3. Try System Restore (if nothing else works): To enter Safe Mode: Hit Windows + R, enter rstrui, and follow the instructions to go back to a previous functioning state.

Please tell me what step you’ve gotten to or if you need assistance with any of the points mentioned above. I’m here to assist you.

    Appreciate your time.

    Kind regards,

    Pau
