Hello I'm just wondering about how the system works because I belive that I have windows 11 installed and it even says it when I go to setting and look at device info but when I open the command prompt in system recovery mode it say that it's running and windows 10 and I don't know if that is normal or not and I'd appreciate if some could tell me so I don't have to worry about affecting my computer. Please and thank you.

Hello Apaod! Thank you so much for reaching out, I am Harvie an independent advisor, and I am glad to assist you today with this issue.

Sometimes recovery environments can show different versions but let us go through a few steps to confirm things and make sure everything is running as it should:

    1. Check your Windows version in the main system

Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.

    Type winver and hit Enter.

A small window will pop up showing you the version and build number of your Windows. If it says Windows 11 then your main system is indeed running that version.

    1. Check from System Settings

Go to Settings > System > About.

Scroll down to the section called Windows specifications.

Look at the Edition and Version and this should also say Windows 11 if that is what is installed.

    1. Make sure everything is up to date

    Open Settings > Windows Update.

Click Check for updates to make sure your system and recovery tools are both up to date.

You are most likely running Windows 11 normally and what you are seeing in recovery is just a leftover naming thing that happens sometimes. Unless you are experiencing actual problems booting or using the system, there's no need to worry.

Please try these steps and let me know how it goes. If you run into any issues, just reply back with the details.

    Best regards,

    Harry
