Windows 10 LTSC

Hi All,

A little background, I work on systems where the software does not change, so all I need are patches, I do not require added features or even feature improvement. I just need a solid supported OS that will continue to run as it does the day the software was installed. LTSC seems to be the answer without having to upgrade to a new windows version every 2 to 3 years. I would like to stay on Windows 10 for another 5 years if possible.

I have been trying to find any information online and the best I could find was Microsoft's website. With that said, the information was not that helpful. For Example, it says to contact Distributors for help. One phone number didn't work at all, the other phone numbers take you into a Voicemail tree and there are no options for LTSC, not even options to discuss with support about my options.

I then tried to contact the Industrial PC manufacturer and they were not able to help or to even point me to anyone that has any information on the subject.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LTSC licenses are good for 10 years, but not from purchase date but from the start date for entire version. If you'll buy Win 10 LTSC in 2028, it will be good for less than a year. And you need to find a Microsoft partner to sign a contract and buy a licenses.

    Hi Igor,

I think you may have missed my point, I am trying to get LTSC, not replace or upgrade it. As stated in a previous reply, I have Windows 10 Professional licenses currently.

there is also IoT enterprise LTSC which is good for 10 years (Does not list a start or end date on the MS website). What do you know about this?

What happened with a company that sold you LTSC licenses? Why can't you ask it?

And please note, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 support ends Jan 9, 2029 https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/pro...

    Hi Igor,

    Thank you for the reply.

We do not buy a considerable number of licenses, unless you consider 20 a year considerable. We buy an Industrial PC (loaded with a Windows 10 Professional license) and as stated in the original post, I went to them, and they were not able to help.

I do realize that LTSC is geared toward businesses, a more accurate description would probably be an OEM which we are.

    Hi Rob,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll try to help you. I am merely a fellow user trying to provide insight and information that may be helpful to others.

Sorry but it's hard for me to believe that your company doesn't have direct contacts with the organization from which it buys a considerable number of licenses. Ask the seller who sold these licenses to your company,

I suppose you should know that LTSC is a corporate edition not available for home users, at least legally.
