my gigabyte laptop is stuck on the logo screen

Hi, I need help with my Gigabyte laptop, which is currently not booting properly.

When I turn it on, it either gets stuck at the Gigabyte logo or goes to “Preparing Automatic Repair”, but it never actually loads into Windows.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • I disabled Secure Boot in the BIOS (it uses InsydeH20 BIOS).
  • I created a bootable USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool, but when I try to boot from it, it doesn’t work properly — sometimes it fails to load, and other times it doesn’t allow me to repair or reinstall Windows.
  • I can access the BIOS, but I can’t get into Safe Mode or use any of the recovery tools.
  • The automatic repair just loops endlessly.

So far, nothing has worked. If basic troubleshooting steps don’t solve it, please escalate this to Tier 2 support, as I think this issue needs more advanced help.

    Hello, this is Nobuko.

The following is a news article from GIGABYTE. While it specifically addresses GIGABYTE laptops, the same issue has also been reported with devices from ASUS and other manufacturers.

I wasn’t able to find this article on GIGABYTE’s US site, but it is available on their Japanese page.

Please use your browser’s translation feature to read the content:
[ Problems after Windows Update on GIGABYTE laptops] https://www.gigabyte.com/jp/Press/News/-447 (Please note: this is not a Microsoft website, but an official announcement from your PC’s manufacturer.)
This issue can prevent the computer from booting after applying a Windows Update.
If this may apply to your system, I recommend contacting GIGABYTE support.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Harry, thanks for your reply. I really appreciate your help.

I’ve checked my BIOS thoroughly but I can’t find any option for CSM or any setting related to UEFI or Legacy modes. It seems like those options are either hidden or unavailable on my Gigabyte laptop.

Also, I already tried recreating the USB using Rufus with GPT/UEFI and NTFS, but unfortunately, it didn’t boot or work at all. I’m stuck and really need more advanced solutions.

Can you please guide me on how to do a full clean Windows install from USB? I believe that might be my only option now.

This is quite urgent and I need immediate help, so I’d be really grateful if you could walk me through everything step-by-step.

    Thanks again,

    Hammad

Hello Hammad! Thank you so much for reaching out, I am Harry an Independent Advisor, and I am glad to assist you today with this issue.

It sounds like your Gigabyte laptop is stuck in a boot failure loop possibly caused by OS or storage corruption. Since you are already past basic steps like disabling Secure Boot and trying USB repair now try in BIOS to enable CSM and set USB as 1st boot then try both UEFI and Legacy modes.

Recreate USB using Rufus and use GPT for UEFI or MBR for Legacy then format as NTFS. If USB boots press Shift+F10 and run these on CMD:

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    bootrec /scanos

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

    chkdsk c: /f /r

    sfc /scannow

Also check SSD health: wmic diskdrive get status

If you are still stuck do a clean Windows install from USB.

    Best regards,

    Harry
