I have no idea, im not a tech nerd, I dont know where to check that, but I'll google i guess?
I can't upload or save photos, videos, or files on my windows 11.
When I try and save it on my local computer, i click on "save image as" and after that nothing happens, my file folder doesn't show up. I can't send, share files on discord, insert photos from my device on PPT, nor send files on Microsoft Teams. And probably every other website and browser I used to download and save photos. I as well cant chance my windows 11 background because of that. Any files from my device are inaccessable once i want to open them to do an action on my computer. I can access my files normally through taskbar and desktop. The only real loophole i use is to move the desired photo on my desktop and then from there drop it in with a curser if the website/app allows it. I recently got a new display along with new computer case and components. My computer then upgraded to win11 and ever since then i had this problem. I believed it was because i haven't activated it yet, but that wasn't the problem either....

2025-05-17T12:48:25+00:00 Hello Daria! Thank you so much for reaching out, I am Tin, an independent advisor, and I am glad to assist you today with this issue. It sounds like you're experiencing a significant issue with file access, saving, and interactions across applications on your Windows 11 system, especially after recent hardware upgrades and the OS upgrade. Here's a structured approach to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:
- Check for Windows Updates
Ensure your Windows 11 is fully updated. Sometimes, bugs are fixed through updates.
Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
- Verify User Permissions
Make sure your user account has the necessary permissions.
Right-click File Explorer or a folder > Properties > Security.
Check if your user has Full control permissions.
If permissions are restricted, try creating a new user account with admin rights and see if the problem persists there.
- Reset Default Apps and File Associations
File and save dialogs might be misconfigured.
Settings > Apps > Default Apps.
Reset defaults for relevant file types (e.g., .jpg, .png, .bmp, etc.).
Also, check if saving locations are correctly set:
Settings > System > Storage > Change where new content is saved.
- Check for Corrupted System Files
Run System File Checker:
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Type: sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Wait for the scan to complete and follow any instructions.
- Run the DISM Tool
Still in administrator Command Prompt:
Type: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Press Enter and wait for completion.
- Test in Safe Mode
Boot into Safe Mode to see if the problem persists.
Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart now.
After restart, navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
Select Safe Mode.
If the issue is resolved in Safe Mode, it might be caused by third-party software.
- Check for Conflicting Software
Consider recent installations:
Antivirus or security software can interfere with file operations.
Temporarily disable or uninstall third-party security programs and test again.
- Test with a Different User Profile
Create a new user account:
Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC.
Log into the new account and see if the issue persists.
- Reinstall or Repair Windows
If none of the above work, consider:
Performing a repair install (via Windows Reset or In-place upgrade).
Backup your data before proceeding.
