Win10 toolbars in Win11

I know that win10 taskbar toolbars are no longer available in win11 and was thinking that I'm going to have to find some way to migrate that functionality which is a massive productivity boost for me.

Anyway, without notice, this morning I arrive at work and find that I've been upgraded to Win11. Toolbars are gone. I will have to try to "remember" which toolbars I had set up as I guess any evidence of my configuration is also gone.

So I'm asking, is there ANY way in win11 - perhaps not in the taskbar - that I can navigate the some kind of configurable nested folder tree structure of win10 toolbars without reverting to opening clunky explorer windows that I have to close each time I need to access a shortcut in my list?

The way things are looking I'm seriously playing with the idea of writing some vba to modify my outlook menu bar with the folder details, but I really don't want to be going to that kind of trouble. I just want something "slick"

    Thanks Scott.

So far all I've worked out is how to "pin" folders to the start menu, but these are just shortcuts to opening a folder in explorer.

How do I add a folder to the start menu so I can traverse the tree structure of files and subfolders WITHIN the start menu, without opening any folders in explorer - in a similar manner to the start menu in Win95-win7?

Is there a different "view" of the start menu that I need?

    thanks

    Guy

    Hi!

Thank you for posting your query to community forum!

Unfortunately, Windows 11 does not support taskbar toolbars like in Windows 10.

However, you can still access a nested folder tree structure by using the Start menu or File Explorer. You can pin frequently used folders to the Start menu for quick access or create shortcuts on your desktop for easy navigation. While it may not be as seamless as taskbar toolbars, these alternatives can help you maintain productivity. There are third party tools available which you can try such as ExplorerPatcher, StartAllBack.

Please note that Microsoft does not officially recommend or support third-party applications for modifying the Windows 11 taskbar. While some tools may help restore lost functionality, they can also introduce potential security and stability risks. If you choose to use such apps, it's important to download them only from trusted sources and be mindful of any unintended effects on your system.

If you're missing a feature in Windows 11, the best way to let Microsoft know is by submitting feedback through the Feedback Hub:

I hope answers your query but if you need further assistance feel free to reply.
