"Can't reach default gateway" and "DHCP server not found"

I can't connect my computer to the internet via my office WiFi. It's able to connect to the WiFi but then says "no internet connection" and "can't reach default gateway" and "DHCP server not found".

Other people's devices in our office are able to connect to the internet via our office WiFi though, only my computer is affected.

My computer is however still able to connect to the internet via my personal mobile hotspot, just not when using the office WiFi.

I have the exact same issue and I've been pulling my hair out over this. I too can only have a working connection through tethering my phone's wifi. My partner has the same issue with his unrelated Windows 11 PC. His wifi works, his ethernet does not. We both get booted at the same time IF the ethernet somehow manages to work for maybe 30 minutes or so.

Pc keeps asking for an IP. Router does not reply.

I have done, as far as I know, literally everything to try and fix this. All the commands, registry edits, setting static IPs, different subnets, different DNS servers, policy changes, different devices, brand new hardware, had a guy from my ISP check the network, and eventually a complete reinstallation of Windows 11.

I think Microsoft has done something with an update or something and there's nothing we can do until they fix it.

Just so you know, it's not your network. It's Windows, I'm sure of it.

Hello, my name is Mario, and I would be happy to assist you with your issue.

    I’m sorry for what happened!

Forget and Reconnect to the Network

Go to Network Settings > Wi-Fi > Manage Known Networks.

Find your office network and click "Forget".

Reconnect by entering the password again.

    Release and Renew IP Address

Open the Command Prompt as Administrator and type:

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    Then, try accessing the internet.

    On Windows:

Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.

    Click "Change adapter settings".

Right-click on your Wi-Fi connection > choose Properties.

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > click Properties.

Make sure the following are selected:

:white_check_mark: Obtain an IP address automatically

:white_check_mark: Obtain DNS server address automatically

Reset the Network Stack (Winsock Reset)

In the Command Prompt (as Administrator), run:

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

Go ahead and perform these steps, then let me

    Best regards,

    Mario B.
