Hello Chezit , thanks for reaching out. I'm Ace, one of the Independent Advisors. I can understand your concern and please don't worry I am here to help you.
If your cursor only appears when an external mouse is plugged in, it's likely that your laptop's touchpad is either disabled or not functioning properly. This can happen due to system settings, driver issues, or even BIOS configurations. One common cause is that Windows may be set to automatically disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected, and sometimes it fails to re-enable it when the mouse is removed. To resolve this, first check your touchpad settings by going to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad (or simply search for "Touchpad settings" in the Start menu). Ensure the touchpad is turned on, and look for an option that says something like “Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected.” If it’s off, toggle it on. If that doesn’t help, open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it), then expand “Mice and other pointing devices.” If your touchpad is listed there, right-click it and choose “Enable device.” If it’s already enabled, try updating the driver or uninstalling and restarting your PC to let Windows reinstall it.
Let me know if this method works Chezit.
Thanks!
