Acer Nitro V15 wont start after Win11 BIOS update!

Hi,

yesterday my collegue, who got same Laptop as me, called to NOT install new Win11 update, cause when he did his, the system wouldnt start anymore under all circumstances...

So I did not update my Acer but.. it did it by its own, during the night (so clever). It woke me up at early morning cause of the fan working at full speed. After checking the laptop it wont turned on and has constant Blue Screen (what a suprise?).

The Windows update was called "Insyde Software - Firmware - 5.46.1.26". The blue screen states for: Inaccessible Boot Device.

So what to do now? Reinstall that super system and loose all mine stuff? Then Win 11 will do this update again by itself, then repeat?

Its kind of a joke...

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Boot your system into BIOS, find the option to restore BIOS defaults and apply that.

Check the Boot priority list in BIOS and ensure 'Windows Boot Manager' is set as the primary boot device.

Save those settings and restart your system to see if Windows boots up normally.

If not, are you able to access the recovery environment using these steps.

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

    Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Can you provide the link or document title for the solution you found on Acer?

    Hi,

Can you specify how did you solve this? I am currently having the same issue but BIOS got updated to the Nitro version and there is no Intel VMD option anymore, just Intel VTX and Intel VTD.

I need to get my files back so I cannot restore the computer.

    Many thanks

I sorted it already in different way.

I found on Acer web, that after Updating Bios, it turned on again some not needed options.

And that was the case here.

    Intel VMD to be specific.

Now everything fine. Too bad my collegue formated his system already..
