Is there a reason why the red color on my monitor turns orange when I connect my second monitor ?

I recently bought the "Philips 32m2n6800M/00" Great monitor.

I'm running into potentially windows related issue. Whenever I connect my second monitor to the PC, the red color shifts to orange. This is bizzare and I can't seem to pinpoint why this happens.

Is this a windows bug or am I missing something ?

I've heard people mention that this monitor has some kind of orange color issues, but this was debunked by the philips support saying that there is nothing wrong with the monitor and I see that there isn't. It just seems to do this under specific conditions, like running HDR or using multi-monitor set up.

I played around with color management as well, got the proper profiles on both monitors and the issue persists.

In fact it's all just glitchy and weird. The issue also appears on the other monitor that I connected too. The red color randomly shifts to orange then back to red. For example if going through windows settings, it's orange, if I click on chrome, it turns back to red.

    Hi Sipder,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft community.

I understand that you're having issues with your secondary monitor where the color changes from red to orange whenever you switch to HDR mode.

According to an existing forum that I found, this is a common behavior of this specific monitor, to the point where most users are just switching from HDR to SDR.

Here's the existing forum for your reference:

Please see if you have an available firmware update on your monitor and update to the latest version.

If you already have the latest version, I would recommend that you contact Philips support to further investigate on your issue.

I agree, I gave it a second read.

After a bunch of testing more on my end, I noticed that the red color in SDR is fine. But only is affected in HDR. Although it still does glitch when there are more than 1 color profiles on SDR.

So I'm gonna reach out to philips support about this issue. thanks !
