How do I fix this blue screen and recovery screen loop??

I am having trouble being able to save this laptop like at all. It seems to be going into a loop of a blue screen and a recovery screen, and then back into the blue screen, and so on. Im unable to access the advanced options for some reason as when I try to it just puts me back on the blue screen. Ive tried all of the options in the recovery screen but it just still ends up on the blue screen again, including safe mode. Ive tried to reinstall windows through my usb, but when i try to get the boot options up by pressing f12 during startup my screen just freezes. It is very annoying and I have no idea why this is happening.

The error code for the blue screen is: BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO

The error code for the recovery screen is: 0xc0000098

Id love to have some help on this situation as i’m just completely lost.

I do want to note though that my laptop has always had some issues. If I wasn’t in some sort of application or game, my laptop would sometimes just shut itself off without any warning. This also means that I have to rush to get into an application or game when I startup my laptop or it will just shut itself off. This ALSO happens when i’m trying to download or load something such as updates and such from the laptop, and i’m thinking that might be why as when I was trying to load something, it just powered off without any warning.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

Did you test the USB installation media on different USB ports or a different device?

In situations like these, the USB installation media is usually the problem. Which is why I recommend a new USB drive.

If your device still freezes when plugging in a different USB drive, it could be a hardware issue. The problem might be with the RAM, a failing SSD, or the motherboard.

To test, you can also download a Windows 10 ISO and create a bootable USB using the media creation tool to see if it boots correctly.

Additionally, you can try running pre-boot hardware diagnostic tests to see if any hardware component is failing. This will help us identify the issue and resolve it.

Let me know if you still need more help.

Hi Gunasekar, thank you for helping me.

Yeah, i’ve tried to reinstall windows again through usb but it still just goes to the blue screen, and yes I also disabled secure boot. Thats also why I said that I tried to forcefully make it boot to the usb to reinstall windows 11 through the boot options when the laptop starts up by repeatedly pressing f12, and my screen would just freeze, and thats why I feel like getting a new usb would just be useless. And yes I made the usb the first priority in the UEFI settings.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

Based on the description provided, there could be several reasons why you might experience repeated shutdowns on your device. Reasons could be due to overheating, a faulty power supply, or a failing battery. In other cases, it could be due to a corrupted driver or BIOS settings.

Since the device is stuck in a BSOD loop and cannot be turned on to run tests, you should first try reinstalling Windows 11 using the USB installation media.

Check if the USB installation media you created works on another device. If it does, plug the USB drive into the problematic PC and try inserting it into a different USB port to see if you can install Windows. If it doesn’t work, use a different USB drive and create new installation media using the Media Creation Tool (MCT).

Also, in your laptop's BIOS settings, ensure you disable secure boot and set your USB drive as the first boot device in the boot priority list.

See if you can install Windows. (For reference, see the video article below)

If your device continues to shut down even after reinstalling Windows, check the laptop’s ventilation and run pre-boot hardware diagnostic tests to identify any hardware issues. You can also try updating your BIOS to the latest version if the Windows reinstallation is successful.

Let me know if you still need more help.
