Hi Thomas,
I’m Pau, your Independent Advisor. Thanks for reaching out. I know this process might sound technical, but I will guide you through it step by step in the simplest way possible.
Please back up your files before proceeding to ensure nothing important is lost.
Here’s what to do:
- Press Windows key, type msinfo32, and check BIOS Mode, if it shows Legacy, proceed with the next steps.
- Press Windows key, type cmd, right-click and choose Run as administrator.
- In the Command Prompt, type mbr2gpt /validate and press Enter to confirm your disk can be converted.
- If validation is successful, type mbr2gpt /convert and press Enter to convert your disk from MBR to GPT.
- Restart your PC and immediately press the key (usually F2, F10, or Del) to enter BIOS Setup.
- In BIOS, change Boot Mode or Boot Priority to UEFI and disable Legacy Support or CSM.
- Save changes and exit BIOS, your system will boot using UEFI.
After that, you can continue with the Windows 11 upgrade.
I hope I’ve been able to help with your concerns.
Best regards,
Pau
