Thanks for reaching out! I am here to help.

If your device is no longer appearing under your Microsoft account, here are a few things to check and do to get it back.

Step 1. On your device, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
Make sure it shows “Signed in with a Microsoft account” and not a local account.
If you’re using a local account, click "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead."

Step 2. Go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts.
Under “Accounts used by other apps,” make sure your Microsoft account is listed.
If not, click “Add a Microsoft account.”

Step 3. Turn on device sync & online features
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security> General.

    Turn on options like:
“Let apps access your account info.”
“Send Microsoft info about how I write to improve typing.”
Then go to Settings > System > About, and make sure your device name is set.
Also, in Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings, ensure syncing is enabled.

Step 4. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and sign in.
If no devices show, scroll down and click “Don’t see your device?”
Follow the prompt to link your device again.

Step 5. Check your device is connected to the Internet & activated
Ensure the device has Internet access.

Go to Settings > System > Activation and confirm Windows is activated with a digital license.

Step 6. Sign Out and Sign Back In
Sometimes refreshing the Microsoft session helps:
Sign out of the Microsoft Store and the PC account.
    Reboot the device.
Sign in again with your Microsoft account.

If after all this, the device still isn’t showing, let me know if you are using a new PC or the same one you always used. Or have you recently reset Windows or changed accounts?

I’ll guide you further depending on your setup.

Thanks, I’ve checked everything above and even renamed the pc but it still shows the device as the old name under the pc devices. I tried registering it and it says serial number is invalid.

Thanks, Michael! Since you reinstalled Windows, that explains why the device disappeared from your Microsoft account list. A clean install removes the device’s previous registration, and the system treats it as a new machine even if the hardware is the same.

Here’s how to get your device to show up again

    1. Sign in with your Microsoft account

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info

Make sure it says "Signed in with a Microsoft account"

If not, click “Sign in with a Microsoft account instead”

    1. Ensure the device is activated

Go to Settings > System > Activation

Confirm that Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account

    1. Turn on sync and device visibility

Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings > Turn this On

Settings > Privacy & security > General > Turn on options like:

“Let Windows improve Start and search”

“Let apps access your account info”

    1. Rename your PC (optional but helpful)

Go to Settings > System > About > Click Rename this PC

Give your PC a recognizable name

    Reboot after renaming

    1. Visit the Microsoft Devices page

    Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices

Scroll to the bottom and click “Don’t see your device?” if it’s still missing

Follow the steps to manually link it

After doing the above, give Microsoft’s backend some time (usually within 24 hours to update the devices list.

Please let me know if you still have questions or if you still need help with anything else. I would be happy to help.
