When you plug in your phone, it defaults to “Charging only.” You must switch it to “File Transfer (MTP)”

Plug in your phone > On the phone, swipe down from the top >Tap the USB notification.

Select “File Transfer” or “Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)”.

you may need to change the USB port or the cable if required.
