Yeah, there doesn't seem to have a solution. A workaround for now is to install copilot as a web app. It works mostly the same.
Copilot quit working from taskbar
Copilot quit working from taskbar. It used to work great until today. I click the icon and in Task Manager I can see it opens briefly but closes down immediately. So I restarted windows 11 and the same behaviour remains. So I searched Google and went to settings and selected Repair. No help. So then I remembered that I saw Copilot in Edge. So I opened Edge and it works. But the app on my computer is broken. I went to the store and there is not an update but none the less I updated all apps. Do you know what is wrong. I didn't want to select Reset because it says it deletes all my data. Currently there aren't any updates. It says I am up to date in system. I am on v 24H2 OS Build 26120.4520

2025-07-14T09:01:46.23+00:00 It appears to be the same issue as Microsoft Community suggested question. I don't think an official solution has been released yet. It appears briefly and immediately shuts down. If you restart as it is closing down sometimes it may work.
