July 8th update has broken Emoji search!
[Article] Using Emojis in Outlook
When you use Outlook on Windows, you can insert emoji (and symbols Ω) using Windows's Emoji panel. If the recipient's email client does not support emoji's they will see the emoticon version, not the colorful emoji.
To insert an emoji into Outlook (classic, new, or web), press Windows key and ; (semi-colon) or Windows key and . (period) to open the panel at the cursor insertion point. Click to select the emoji to add it to your email. If you can't find the emoji you want, type a description of the emoji into Search (icon on the lower left) to find the emoji.
Some common emojis (smilie, frown, heart etc) are in classic Outlook's autocorrect. You can type the emoticon to insert these instead of using the Emoji panel.
