These messages do not show in the students list of chats nor the hidden folder in her mailbox.

So Im currently stuck in helping this poor student and need some ideas on how to move forward.

    Juan,

This is how it looks like, the person in the notification does not show up in the list to the left of current chats.

We cannot enter the chat to see who the person is.

All chats are suppose to be saved to teams chat folder on the users mailbox, which is by default hidden, for eDiscovery reasons.

This persons messages does not show up there either.

    Jesper,

So, when the affected party receives the message, he can't tell who this is?

In order to provide a better diagnose/solution, please send me a screenshot (delete all sensitive/personal information from the screenshot).

    Thank you.

    Hello Juan,

Its not that we want to block the person per-say.

But we want to know who this person is so we can attempt to contact said person.

But right now I cant find anything, and I've seen the message notification myself without anything appearing in the list of current chats, so not sure what to do.

    Hello Jesper,

My name is Juan Pedro, I am an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products. I will be more than happy to assist you today!

There is currently no way to block messages. The only thing you can do is use an address book policy that will simply hide your support email address in Teams. Microsoft calls this Scoped Directory Search and have an article for it here:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...

Blocking individuals is not the intended use-case of it here, but rather separating groups. It may suit your needs though.

Here’s the closest UserVoice suggestion I can find. From my discussions with people from the Microsoft Teams development team, they try to focus on UserVoice suggestions to help prioritize features and bugs and get further feedback.
