Teams no longer works, says "There was a glitch"

Teams no longer works. I can't click anything in the Teams window, including minimize/maximize/close. Eventually it closes and gives me the message "There is a glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please sign in again" with a Sign In button, which gets me back in and gives me the same problems. Sometimes it works for a few seconds and then freezes up again.

After clicking Sign In on the above message, it says "There was a glitch, and we had to restart the app. It's good to go now." at the tom of the window, but continues to not work.

I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, and then installing again and the issue persists.

How can I get Teams working again?

I found running Teams in compatibility mode Windows 7 took care of my problem.

The web client works fine. The desktop client also works fine on my other PC. So I don't think it's account related.

You're welcome, George. Please try ending the task for Teams in the Task Manager then restart Teams.

And if possible, uninstall then reinstall the app using this download link:

    Thanks
