Setting up a Custom Background for Teams

Hi!

I have designed a simple repeat pattern of our company's logo for our employees to use as a background in Teams. The logo is vector, the artboard setup is 1920px x 1080px, and the image is saved as a high res jpg (330 ppi). However, whenever I add the background to Teams, the logos become really pixelated. What can I do so that the background will be visually clearer?

Thanks,

Katie

    Hi Katie,

Based on your description, I understand that when you use your custom background in Teams meeting, the image got pixelated. And you would like it to appear more clearly.

Based on my research, for the best experience with custom backgrounds, Teams recommend uploading images with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of at least 1920 x 1080 if possible. Since you have already set the resolution to 1920 x 1080, please kindly check and change the aspect ratio to see if it will work.

For more information, please refer to Custom backgrounds.

If the problem persists, to better help you solve your problem, may I ask you to do the following and provide related information to me? Thanks!

    • To see if this is related to the specific image, please kindly change another image to see if it has the same problem.
    • Since Teams support .JPG, .PNG, or .BMP files, please change the image to .PNG or .BMP to see if it will work.
    • If the problem still exists, please kindly provide us a screenshot of your Teams meeting with the background and the background file through Private Message to us for further analysis and test. You may also view your private messages from your profile.

Your patience and cooperation are highly appreciated. Please feel free to let us know if there are any updates from you. I’ll be happy to continue working on this problem with you:)

    Best Regards,

    Jasmine

I have the same issue.. I tried following the suggestions, but it hasn't resolved the problem. I am wondering if there is an update on a fix already?
