Giving Control on Microsoft Teams

I wonder if Teams has the same function as Skype where the host can give control to a participant so they can complete a section of a document they are viewing.

If so, can anyone tell me how to do this please? I've looked, but can't see the feature.

    Hello #SistaB,

The feature to give control other participants is still available in Microsoft Teams. Please see the instructions below.

The first time you share your screen or documents in Teams, you will see a sharing toolbar at the top of the screen like the screenshot below:

But the toolbar will be hidden automatically in a few seconds. You can put the mouse at the top of the screenshot, and it will display now. Click Give control button and select the name of the participant you want to give control to.

Moreover, the participants can also click Request control button on their side. Once it is approved by the presenter, they will also be able to take control.

For more details about this feature, please see Give and take control of shared content part in this article: Share content in a meeting in Teams

    Regards,

    Rick

What are the conditions for giving and requesting control.

We use Teams for Education. Some students have the Teams desktop on their Windows 10 devices, some have the Teams web app installed on their  computer, laptop, or a mac or tablet/chrome device. (I am assuming that remote control cannot happen n a phone with a Teams app installed.)

The instructors all have the Teams desktop app on their Windows 10 devices.

Does everyone need Windows 10 with the desktop app for giving control?

    Hello Rick,

I have a question regarding the screen share and give/request control features.

In order to restrict unintentional security issues, we want to only allow managers to share screen and give/request control. I thought I could simply create and assign a customized policy for managers, giving them both options, while turning the give/request control option OFF (keeping share screen ON) in the Global meeting policy, which is assigned to everyone else.

This hasn't worked the way it should. For example: The Mgr starts the meeting, the Global user joins. The Mgr shares screen, Global user can request control - but shouldn't be able to.  When the Global user shares screen, both the Mgr and the Global user do NOT have the option to give/request control.

My question is this: Do all meeting participants have to have the share screen and give/request control options ON in their meeting policies in order for both to give/request control??

    Thank you.

    K
