Team Owner has left the company - need to assign a new owner

We have a teams site that has been set up for a while, the teams owner has since left the company and therefore her account has been deactivated. Unfortunately the owner did not reassign the team to another owner before she left, so it is currently blank. How can i assign an owner to the team without having owner permissions myself? Is there a work around for this?

Thank you in anticipation.

Here is how this is solved. The Admin goes logs in to Microsoft 365 and goes to the Admin portal using the black button on the left with all the other apps. Then you go to Teams & Groups. Then Active teams & groups. Click on the name of the Team. A window will open. Go to Members. Then "View all and Manage Owners" Add new owner. Delete old owner.

    Hello Amy,

My name is Juan Pedro, I am an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products. I will be more than happy to assist you today!

In this case please try to contact your Teams admin (if you don't know who is your admin, please contact the IT department of your company or school) the Admin should be able to override this.

I hope this helped. I will be around in case you need something else.

    Thank you.
