MS Teams : how to enable the SSO

Hello everybody.

We have recently installed Microsoft Teams to test  it before deploying to the rest of the users. Different to O365, I have to re-enter my credentials to log on. Is there a way to avoid this, and have MS-Teams behave just like Skype for Business?

Thank you in advance

    Hi MSartoris,

No, for Microsoft Teams app, you need to enter the credentials to sign in even with ADFS deployment.

    Thanks,

    Franky

SSO targeted for GA timeframe; currently under NDA and in TAP validation. If your org is interested to participate in Teams TAP please let your account team know.

    Hi Marc,

After consulting with the relevant team, I understand that it is a known issue which SSO cannot be enabled in Microsoft Teams.

They are still working on it.

Currently, there is no exact timeline about it.

    Thanks,

    Franky

    Hi Marc,

    Thanks for the information.

However, as I mentioned in previous post, you need to re-enter the credentials to sign in and there is no official article about how to enable SSO for Microsoft Teams.

Given the situation, I will consult the relevant team to check this again.

I will post back if there is any update.

    Thanks,

    Franky

On this page https://blogs.office.com/2016/11/02/introducing-microsoft-teams-the-chat-based-workspace-in-office-365/, it states:

    Q. What level of security and compliance does Microsoft Teams support?

    A. Microsoft Teams is expected to be Office 365 Tier C compliant at launch. This broad set of global compliance and data protection requirements includes ISO 27001, ISO 27018, EUMC, SOC 1 Type I & II, SOC 2 Type I and II, HIPAA and FERPA. Microsoft Teams also enforces two-factor authentication, single sign on through Active Directory and encryption of data in transit and at rest.

Also, in the log at "C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\logs.txt", it logs the following:

    SSO status: isSsoEnabled:false, enableSso:false, disableSsoCommandLine:false

These two pieces of info suggest that SSO should be possible. Is it possible to enable now, during the preview? In other words, how would we change isSsoEnabled and/or enableSso to true?

Is this something we'll need to wait for GA for?
