We're using Teams for chat and video meetings, but would like to use the screen sharing and remote control for troubleshooting and suppport requests. However, Windows does not pass UAC prompts through the Teams screen sharing.

Is this feature available till today?

The best tool to use is Microsoft's Quick Assist, built in to windows 10. You will be surprised how good it is. Can see both screens, initiate task manager and you can use the UAC.

What I suggest is to make some changes in your GPO on how the UAC presents itself but does not turn it off.

    Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings//Local Policies/Security Options

    Policy Setting
User Account Control: Allow UIAccess applications to prompt for elevation without using the secure desktop Enabled
User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation Disabled

These will stop the black screen but give the prompt, and yes you can enter your credentials with no problems

got a reply from Microsoft lately

Teams - Screen Sharing - Windows UAC

Let's get started. Based on the details provided, are you referring to be able to bypass when doing a Screen Share in MS Teams, if the controller runs a program requiring UAC prompt, the screen freezes on the controller's end while the UAC prompt is open on the client end? If this is the case, unfortunately this is a feature that is not yet implemented.

    Thanks

That does not answer my question.

When running any setup in remote computer screen sharing freezes when the UAC prompt pops up but working fine in remote computer. I am talking about this UAC feature that block admin from putting password in remote computer.

Good Stuff! Thanks for sharing. Don't pay $2300 per year for 3 simultaneous connections with TeemViewer :)

TEAMS isn't really suitable for remote support.  Try Splashtop.  --- L
