Microsoft Teams Contact List - How to look like Skype?

Is there a way to permanently show your Contacts List similar to how Skype did it? I liked having a separate "Buddy List" window that I could monitor my Team Members' status that I added to my list. Then the IMs appeared in a separate window.

On Teams, it is all piled into one single window, and there is no way to have your Buddy list permanently visible (you have to select chat option to show the list, and they have the users in Recents category appearing first instead of users in your Contracts list. I do not want to receive notifications of Team Members' status changes as I do not want to receive notifications for all of the 35 members on my Contacts list. However, I still need to monitor their status' and notifications are a little extreme and not necessary.

    Hi Alexa318,

Thanks for your post. Based on my knowledge and tests, it is not feasible to have a separate buddy list window in Microsoft Teams currently. As for your concerns to show the IMs in a separate window, as a workaround, you can double click on the contact to pop up the chat window to a separate window.

Moreover, to improve our product's features and provide you a better user experiencing, I'd like to suggest that you can send your feature request and suggestions to our development team in the Teams UserVoice forum.

Microsoft will consider every constructive suggestion and design new features based on our customer's suggestions. We appreciate your valuable comments, thanks for your time and efforts.

    Best regards,

    Jennifer
