Cannot Upload Files to Teams Assignments "There was a problem attaching this file."

Hi there, in some of our Teams, users are unable to upload files to Assignments. They get the error message "There was a problem attaching this file. Please remove and try again".

    Hi there, this error occurs on both the web version and downloaded client version of Teams. Screenshot is below.

    I have never created assignments through OneNote - so this is probably not related.

    I have the same problem with a limited number of Students who cannot attach files to assignments to turn them in. Frustrating.... the error message saying an erorr occured is really helpful as well :-(

    Thanks for reaching us in community!

    For this issue, you may let the users to use URL links instead of files in the assignment attachments as a workaround.

    We'd like to know if it's a client related issue or not, you can check whether the attachments file can be upload successfully in https://teams.microsoft.com/ or not. If web-side works functioning, it should be a client related-issue. 

    Meanwhile, please kindly share us a screenshot of the entire failed page, so that we can have a better understanding for such a condition in case missing something.
