Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Hi Rick,
Thank you for taking the time to research and address this question.
Unfortunately you answer is not correct. In the Mac PT keyboard, SHIFT+2 will produce " (quotation mark). OPTION+2 will produce @ (at).
Likewise, SHIFT+3 will produce # (hash/pound sign) and OPTION+3 the € (euro) character, making it also hard to type the euro character in MS Teams.
I believe this will affect any keyboard layout where keys 1-4 have more than 2 character assignments, which happens in several languages, like Spanish, Slovak or Thai. Check for instance https://keyshorts.com/blogs/blog/37615873-how-to-identify-macbook-keyboard-localization
However unpleasant this may be to Mac users, I believe there is a way to circumvent it. There seems to be a distinction between LEFT OPTION and RIGHT OPTION keys.
The solution that works for me is to use the RIGHT OPTION key to get the desired character.
For instance, RIGHT OPTION + 2 will produce @ in the PT keyboard.
I hope this will help Teams users in other languages as well.
Cheers!
