I had this problem and it was driving me nuts, I tried on the desktop app and online version, but had the same issue for weeks, then stumbled across a fix that worked for me! I've got the android app on my phone (so I can't speak for Apple, but hopefully it's the same) If you log on to that and go to the Teams page, then select the three dot menu for the team who's picture you want to change, then select "edit team", you should have an option for "change team picture" and it worked first time for all of our teams 😊

Many thanks for this solution. It's not the first problem with Teams I have been able to solve only by going into the Android version and working from there. It is extraordinary that MS appear unable to make things work properly on their own platform...

I've seen several answers, some of them asking me to code by the looks of it. This shouldn't be too hard as it is pretty standard functionality, isn't it.

I tried making new teams, even added files and all kind of other stuff, but to no avail.

So come on Microsoft, give a real workable answer for non-programmers.
