Droidcam and Teams - Windows 8.1

Hello there! I have been using droidcam, an app running on my android phone with a windows client. It works great with some meeting apps, like zoom and whatssap. However, when trying to use Teams, neither the web based service nor the separate app seem to recognize the phone/camera. Is Teams somewhat incompatible with droidcam? I have tried other wifi-based apps to use my phone as a web cam in Teams, but they didn't seem to work either.

    Hello Nicolas,

Thanks for your time and patience. Based on your steps, we had test at our end and its working in Teams. Regarding your issue, we would like to suggest you to connect your mobile device and Windows system with same wifi network, check any firewall and antivirus not blocking Teams. Also kindly check your Teams app, Mobile device, Windows system all are updated with latest software and teams version.

    Thanks and regards,

Sure, I have tried two ways:

    Wifi Connection

    1. Open the App in the phone
    2. Open the program in my PC. Press the wifi connection option. The preview of the video looks perfect.

    USB Connection

    1. Connect my phone (Motorola G5S Plus) via USB cable to the PC in a USB 2.0 port.
    2. Open the App in the phone
    3. Open the program in my PC. Press the USB connection option. The preview of the video looks perfect.

In both cases when I open teams and check my configuration, it does not find a camera

The setup of Droidcam is very simple: just installing the app in the phone and the client in the PC, just like any normal installation. It is a 32 bit program, thus is located in the ProgramFiles (X86) folder in my C drive.

Don't know what any other specifics you would need, but please feel free to ask.

    Thank you!

    Hello Nicolas,

Thanks for update. Since its third party app integrated with Teams, we have limited resources for it. Could you please kindly provide us steps by step information how have you set up droidcam app and using it (an app running on my android phone with a windows client) for Teams? so we can check with test at our end.

    Thanks and regards,

    Ankita Vaidya

Nope, it did not work. Phone recognized perfectly as usb 2.0 device. working in other apps, again (this time as usb connected). However, Teams still does not recognize any camera. This is frustrating, maybe security issues?
