No audio output when using Teams

Hi there,

I am having an issue with Teams whereby the USB headphones I am using will simply not work when I talk. I can hear everyone and everything on a call, yet when I try and talk I get nothing.

I have tried on other platforms and the headphones have no issues.

I have walked through all the guides and support on here, and yet I still can not get the headset to work in Teams. It was working absolutely fine a last week and has stopped all of a sudden.

As I said, playback is fine, I can hear others on the calls, but no one can here me - checked all the settings both in teams and on the device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to have to pay more money for another platform and this issue is already impacting my business!

Thanks,

Lewi

So after days i found the fix for mine. I had to go and turn off the PERMISSIONS for Camera, Audio and etc. It worked after that.

Did you follow these instructions to configure mic/speakers?

Change your default mic, speaker, or camera

To select the mic, speaker, and camera you want Teams to use for calls and meetings, click your profile picture at the top of Teams, then Settings > Devices.

Under Audio devices, pick the speaker and mic you want Teams to use by default.

Under Camera, select the camera you want Teams to use, and see a preview of that camera's video.

If you have multiple certified devices connected to your computer, you can set one as your secondary ringer, which means it'll ring when a call comes in. Answer incoming calls on any device—not just the ones that ring.

Though you have written that you have checked many things but wanted to ensure again.

    1. Open Teams app - Click your picture on top right - Settings - Permissions - Media permission should be ON.

Also in Devices - Check for Audio Devices and Camera - By default, they are properly selected. If not, check them.

    1. If above doesn't work, assuming this is Windows 10 (if any other OS, let me know)

Press Windows key, hold it and press i

    Privacy - Microphone

Allow apps to access your Microphone - Should be ON

Choose which Store apps can access your Microphone and Allow desktop apps to access your Microphone - Teams should be ON wherever it appears
