Outlook web - doesn't include link to join Teams meetings to invitees not using Outlook

Hi,

One of my colleagues has set up a Teams meeting in the Outlook web version, but it does not include the usual Join Teams Meeting link in the email. IT shows the event which can be added to any calendar. If the recipient is using Outlook there is an option to join the meeting in the event in the calendar, but for people who are not using Outlook there is no way to join the meeting. How can we fix this?

Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply but that doesn't really help, nor does it actually answer the question I asked.

I can access the Teams meeting, that is not the problem. Plus I can, and frequently do, set up Teams meetings from both the Outlook desktop app and the web version which automatically includes the details at the bottom of the email and includes them in meeting invites for other calendar types. So this functionality obviously works.

The solution should be to find out why it is not working for some people and make it so it does work. So can you give any advice on that?

    Many thanks

This is acknowledged. It could probably a bug. Please refer to the link below for info re similar concern from other Teams users.

As mentioned on the previous post, as a workaround, you may want to try sending the invite from the Teams Calendar and see if you'll have the same issue.

    I hope this helps you.

    Hello!

I'm Maria, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft product user just like you.

Please contact you colleague and have the meeting forwarded to you via Teams Calendar. You should be able to access the Teams meeting. In the future, I suggest to create a meeting via Teams if non-MS users are participants so that the link to the meeting is automatic.

    I hope this helps.
