Changing Students Names In One Note

In our district the Network Admin uses numbers (IE. ******@......org) as student user names.  When I enter the students in teams or one note, I can only see the number, and it would be much easier to change the number to the students name for easy communications and assessment. Is there anyway to change a students name so it appears as it would in a gradebook? Thanks for any help!

Hi Jeanette,

Yes, there is way to change student name by changing the display name of the particular student account.

In order to do, you must be an Office 365 admin to do these steps.

  1. In the Admin center, go to the Active users page, or choose Users > Active users.
  2. On the Active Users page, select the name of the person you want to edit.
  3. Next to the person's display name, choose Edit.

  4. Type a new name for the person and then choose Save.

NOTE **:**It might take up to 24 hours for this change to take effect across all services. After the change has taken effect.

Regards,

Chitrahaas

Thank you, as I am not the network admin and there is no way my Network guy at school will EVER rename my students (It took me 3 months just to get him to give permission to use office 365 even though we pay for it.   SO I guess I will have to memorize student ID numbers, Ill just be like rain man.  Thanks!
